Principal's Message

Learning is an exciting, life-long endeavour, and the staff and I are proud to have both the opportunity and responsibility to ensure a solid foundation for your child as they continue their educational journey at Mount Stromlo High School.

Student learning and achievement is the core of everything we do at our school.  We have a strong sense of community as teachers, support staff, parents, carers and community organisations work together to support and develop our students.  Our dedicated teachers are united in the belief that all students can learn to high levels and we are committed to building a collaborative and positive learning community that embodies the school values of respect, learning, pride and endeavour.

Students at Mount Stromlo High School are engaged and challenged to become critical creative thinkers and are provided with opportunities to thrive academically, socially and personally.  In addition to the core subjects of Mathematics, Science, English, Society and Environment, and Physical Education, we offer programs in outdoor education, sustainability, astronomy, French, Japanese, creative and performing arts, design and technology.  Students can participate in a range of extracurricular activities including the school band, team sports, student leadership events, performing arts productions and mentoring students at our local primary schools.

As the principal, I believe that it is my responsibility to maintain and continue to build a supportive and collaborative school community where every student succeeds. Strong partnerships with parents and carers are vital for a successful school and ensures high achievement for all students.  I welcome you to become an engaged member of our wonderful school community.
